I throw a lot of initials around on this blog (ECB, BOGO, etc.) and just assume you know what I mean. Here’s a small glossary to help you out if you’re abbreviationally-challenged:
BOGO: Buy one, get one free. Erin at CouponCravings has a great post about how best to save on a BOGO deal.
Cat: Short for Catalina coupon. This is a coupon that prints out at the register (usually at the grocery store, but also at Kmart) along with your receipt.
CRT: Cash register tape. This refers to a coupon that prints on your actual register receipt at CVS. Other stores (JCPenney, Children’s Place) will print surveys there that often result in coupons, but CVS often prints something there after the ExtraCare Bucks.
CVS: Consumer Value Stores. Huh–who knew? The ultimate place to save money shopping for health and beauty products, cleaning supplies, the occasional food items, and so much more. But I’m biased.
ECB: ExtraCare Bucks program at CVS. These print out on your actual register receipt after you purchase certain products at CVS. They are coupons, basically, for certain dollar amounts and can be used on almost everything at CVS (no prescriptions, gift cards, alcohol, etc.).
Manu: Sometimes I don’t feel like typing out “manufacturer’s coupon,” so I use this.
P&G: I often refer to the P&G insert, and I mean the Proctor & Gamble Brandsaver insert (coupon insert) that comes the first week of every month in the Sunday paper.
