NOTE: Safeway deals are also applicable to their partner stores: Dominicks, Genuardis, Vons, Pavilions, Tom Thumb, Randalls, and Carrs.
First let’s go over a couple of good sale prices, then we’ll move on to the Summer Savings Marathon:
Thomas’ English Muffins 24oz (the double pack) is 50% off, making it $2.49 at my store. We use English muffins for little lunch pizzas that the kids top with veggies. Yum!
Lucerne Yogurt is .50 each. I’ve noticed a couple of the varieties (like peach) have been reduced to a 6oz cup size–hmmph. One of the main reasons I buy this yogurt is because it’s still 8oz for less than the price of Yoplait and Dannon. Everything is shrinking!
StarKist Solid White Tuna is .88 each.
Safeway Apple Juice is $2.00. That’s another item where I’ve noticed the price increase in the past few months. $2.00 is as cheap as it gets now.
Rice or Pasta Roni is $1.00, and there’s a .50 off coupon at SmartSource. The coupon is for the Nature’s Way variety, but it scans for any Roni product. Some stores will double it, making it free. I buy the Shells & White Cheddar, add my Deceptively Delicious carrot puree, and it looks like regular mac & cheese to my kids.
Kellogg’s Frosted Mini Wheats is $2.50. If you can find the Blueberry Muffin variety, you can send your receipt in with this rebate form. Thanks to Erin at CouponCravings for the link.
Dannon Activia Yogurt 4pk is $2.50, and there were $1.00 off coupons in the 7/20 and 6/22 newspaper inserts.
And now onto the Summer Savings Marathon matchups:
Mission Tortilla Chips are $1.99, and there’s a .55 off coupon here. I haven’t been able to print it, but that’s probably because I did so a few months back. Give it a try. Still a good deal without the coupon when you include the chips in your 25 items (remember–.80 off each item).
Windex is BOGO at $3.69. There were .75 off coupons in the 7/20 paper, and there’s a concurrent promo running where you get a $1.50 Catalina coupon printed out when you buy two. So….buy two Windex, use 1the .75 coupon and take 1.60 off for the promo, down to $1.34 and you’ll get $1.50 back. It’s even better if you can use a second .75 coupon, but some stores won’t let you use it on the “free” item.
Kellogg’s Special K Bars are $2.50 each, and there’s a coupon for $1.00/2 in the Olympic booklet.
Jolly Time Microwave Popcorn is still on sale for $1.99. If you haven’t printed their coupons here, get to it!
Some of the prices on previously-on-sale items have gone up, like the Ragu. For other ideas and scenarios, check the links here.
Today’s your last day to enter my contest for Summer Savings-related coupons. Just leave a comment by tonight and I’ll announce the winner in the morning!

Great Safeway post, Gina (as always!). You may think I'm crazy but I always think of you and your "Absurdly Fresh" post a few weeks back everytime I hear those Safeway commercials on the radio. Now they're touting "Ridiculously Robust" a lot, but it's still way too funny! Thanks for the laugh!

PS, Did you catch the Harris Teeter weekly store ad in the Post this morning? I saw that they've got the Frosted Mini Wheats & Smart Start on the rebate form on sale this week. Looks like the rebate form is also on the box too. I may have to pick some up when I stop in for Triple Coupon Days at HT this week!
