Safeway this week 7/9

NOTE: Safeway deals are also applicable to their partner stores: Dominicks, Genuardis, Vons, Pavilions, Tom Thumb, Randalls, and Carrs.

It’s hard to focus on the regular weekly stuff when there’s the new promo starting today at Safeway. I’m going to try and keep those posts separate to a degree.

Three SuperCoupons this week (all these products count toward the promo):

• 6-pack bottles of Coca-Cola are 2 for $3
• Kellogg’s Cereal or PopTarts are 4 for $6
• Cottonelle Bath Tissue or Viva Paper Towels are 2 for $11

As usual, remember that since these are Safeway store coupons, you can also use Manu coupons on top of that. For example, you could use two $1 off Cottonelle coupons from the 6/22 paper plus the SuperCoupon and pay $9 for both items.

Shady Brook Farms Lean Ground Turkey is BOGO at $4.49, and each package is 1.3 lbs, which comes to $1.72/lb, way less expensive than ground beef.

Ragu Pasta Sauce is $1.75, and there were coupons in the 5/18 paper for $1 off 2 and coupons for $1 off 3 (but I’m not sure where they came from, I have a lot of them, so it had to be a newspaper insert). This is a pretty good price, but if you’re going to buy Ragu, make it part of the promo.

Near East Couscous mixes are $2.00, and there’s a .50 off coupon here that most stores will double, making it $1 a box.

Planters Peanuts are $3.00, and you can get them free with this coupon, $3 off Planters when you buy 3 Kraft/Nabisco/Oscar Meyer items. Look for low-priced K/N/OM items and use coupons on those as well.

Lucerne Shredded or Chunk Cheese 8oz. is $2.50. This is the lowest I’ve seen cheese in a while, since the price increases across the board.

On page 4 there’s a picture of the 2008 Olympic Games Insider’s Guide, it’s a magazine-type-thing you can pick up in the store. Thanks to Jessfish at Slickdeals for the heads up. Look for a large display and take one! Inside, you’ll find these coupons:
