There are a couple of good deals this week that actually make you money:
Alavert Allergy Medicine is $5.99 with $3 ECBs back. Print this coupon for $4 off, and you’ll earn $1.01 on this transaction. Limit is only 1, unfortunately.
Buy 2 Lamisil or Lamisilk products and get $10 ECBs. Taylortown says there were $3 and $4 off coupons in the 7/20 paper, but my region didn’t get them. This can be a moneymaker if you buy two products at $7.59 each, use two coupons, and get the $10 ECBs back.
All CVS brand Sunscreens are $2 off, and the smallest is $2.19. I’ve been buying these with the $2 off skincare coupon and $1 off CVS suncare for a while, but now they’ll be .19. If you have any coupons left, you can get overage. [It looks like those Beauty Handbook coupons are no longer printable online-sorry!]
And some other ECB deals:
Energizer Batteries are on sale for $2.99. Buy $15 of any Energizers at get $5 ECBs. There were coupons for $1 off in a recent paper (I can’t find the date on TaylortownPreview). Also, there’s a printable here for $1 off (look lower right).
There’s another Buy $10 Candy get $5 ECBs deal, but I’ve been avoiding these the past few weeks.
Buy Benefiber, ExLax, or GasX at $15.99, get $3 ECBs.
Irish Spring 8pk Bar Soap or SoftSoap Refill is $5.69 with $2 ECBs back. There were coupons for both in the 7/27 paper.
Loreal Visible Lift Cosmetics are $9.99 with $2 ECBs back, limit 4. There were coupons back in the 6/1 and 6/8 papers, and again last week in the 8/3 paper.
Buy 24.7 Makeup or Skincare and get $10 ECBs. They have a cleanser that’s $15.99 (everything else is more expensive). Worth a try?
Poland Spring Bottled Water (probably another brand name in your region) is $4.99 with $1 ECB, limit 1.
Buy $25 of Baby Products and get $5 ECBs. The products are:
- Huggies or Playskool Wipes $2.50. Print a coupon for $1 off the Playskool Wipes here (and I’ve mentioned this before, but these wipes are GREAT! We really like them.). You may have Huggies coupons from the newspaper or a mailer.
- Huggies/Pullups Diapers $8.99. There were $1 off coupons in the 7/20 paper or you may have better ones from a mailer.
- Johnson’s Buddies, Powder, Lotion, Wash, Shampoo, or Desitin $2.99. Coupon for $2 off 2 Buddies here. Coupon for $1 off Desitin here.
- Umbrella Stroller $9.99
- Enfamil $23.99
- Fleece Baby Blanket or Johnson’s First Touch Gift Set $7.99
- Tinsley Blake Diaper Bag $14.99
- Playskool Bottles, Spoons, Bowls, Pacifiers, Toys are 25% off
- So’Dorable Baby boots or clogs $7.99
- CVS brand Cotton Swabs $1.50
- Playskool Busy Basics Toys $7.99
And some non-ECB deals:
Bic Soleil Razors are $4.99, and there’s a $3 off coupon in tomorrow’s paper 8/10.
Covergirl Lip Cosmetics are BOGO, and for most people there were $1 off coupons in last week’s P&G insert 8/3 (we got nothing over here in my region).
CVS Brand Vitamins & Minerals are BOGO. If you have a coupon for CVS brand products (from the magic scanner machine), this is a great buy.
Right Guard and Soft & Dri Deodorants are BOGO. There are coupons for $1 and .75 off in tomorrow’s paper 8/10. Remember to use two since you’re buying two items.
Don’t forget to use your $2/$10 CVS coupon for additional savings. I’ll be buying lots of diapers this week, using my brilliant strategy of multiple transactions per store (go to the pharmacy first, buy $10 worth, use the coupon, then go up to the front for the second transaction). I have asked the front cashier to ring me up in separate transactions so I can use my ECBs, but I never use that coupon more than once with the same cashier.

Basic CVS question: how “smart” is the CVS card? One the limit 1 deals is that one per shopping trip or one per CVS card per month?
Also, I used your tip about using expired coupons and used an expired Olay coupon at Rite Aid this week (7 days expired) to earn $1. The register took it, no problem.
thanks,
mel
Pretty smart, unfortunately. I know this first-hand as I bought a third Children’s Advil last week and had already maxed out at two. Oops. For the monthly deals, it’s that limit per month (1 or 3 per month, usually). For the weekly deals, for example, last week Crest was an ECB deal, limit 5. There will be another Crest deal the week of 8/17, and that will start you over since it’s technically a new deal.
I have a question. On the 5.00 ECB deal when you buy 25.00 worth of baby products – I thought you had to buy the 25.00 all in one transacation. Can you do several transacations and still get the ECB’s if you spend 25.00 combined in the transactions? Does that make sense?
Thanks,
jen

& Melissa (towards end)
You can do spend $X amount get $X ECB in mulitple transaction just make sure you do them all within the time limit of the deal (that week, or month). and to check how close you are you can look on your reciept it will show you the balances, also it will tell you if you have max-ed out the limit of that deal or how much you need to buy till you earn the ECB's again
How do coupons factor into deals like the energizer batteries? For example, can I buy 5, use five $1/1 and only spend $10 or would I need to actually spend the $15?
Thanks! love your blog – I’m new at this
Jennifer
Thanks, Momma. Yes, you can split the amount over different transactions. At the end of your receipt, it will tell you how much you have towards that deal.
Yes, you can use five coupons, and it’s the original price that goes towards the deal. Unfortunately, you’ll have to buy SIX Energizers at $2.99, since five only makes $14.95, a nickel short of the deal! So I would split it up over a couple of transactions so you can use the $2/$10 a few times.
I am new at this too. This is just week #2 clipping and printing coupons and raiding my local CVS. Today I got 6 containers of Rightguard deodorant, 6 tubes of Colgate toothpaste, and 2 Colgate toothbrushes. They were all BOGO plus I had a $1.00 off each deordorant (from Sunday’s newspaper), $1.50 of each toothpaste (printed online), $1.00 off each toothbrush, and a $4 off $20.00 purchase at CVS. When I subtract the full price of the greeting card that I bought, I only paid $0.04 for all of the toiletries…a $42.48 value! I am stocking up and saving. Plus its kind of challenging and crafty. Keep the great tips coming!
