There are a number of great beginner scenarios if you’re new to CVS and want to give it a try, or if you’re a vet and just don’t want to think too hard this week!
Below, I’ve highlighted some easy deals for you. All of these scenarios use the $2/$10 coupon:
2 Family Size Herbal Essences $11.00
Use the $2/$10 coupon, two of the $2.00 off coupons from last week’s paper 9/7, and pay $5.00. You’ll get $2.00 back in ECBs, essentially paying $3.00 for two huge bottles.
2 Hellmann Mayo 6.00 (use 1.00/2 coupon from 8/17 paper)
2 Lipton Tea Bags 6.00 (use 1.00/2 coupon from 8/17 paper)
Total is $12.00. Use the $2/$10 coupon and the $2 manu coupons. Pay $8.00 and get $3.00 ECBs back. Lots of groceries for $5! But this is better:
4 Ragu Pasta Sauce $6.67 (use two 1.00/2 coupons from 8/17 paper)
2 Skippy Peanut Butter 3.33 (use 1.00/2 coupon from 8/17 paper)
Total is $10. Use the $2/$10 and $3 manu coupons. Pay $5.00 out of pocket and get $3.00 ECBs back. Even more groceries for just $2.00!
Revlon Age Defying Foundation or Powder 9.99 (use the $2 off coupon from Sunday’s paper 9/14)
2 Hershey giant-sized bars 1.98
Total is $11.97. Use the $2/$10 and the $2 manu coupon. Pay $7.97 and get $6 back in ECBs. That’s like paying $1.97 for expensive makeup; you can celebrate by eating the chocolate. Thanks to reader Dee for pointing out that Revlon coupon!
2 St. Ives Lotion 11.98 (use two $1 off coupons from the 8/10 insert)
Use the $2/$10 and $2 manu coupons. Pay $7.98 and get $5.00 ECBs back.
Excedrin $3.99 (use this $2.00 off coupon for the Migraine version–don’t want it? Donate it!)
Tylenol Rapid Release $6.49 (use the $2 off coupon from Sunday’s paper 9/14)
Total is $10.48. Use the $2/$10, the $4 in manu coupons, and pay $4.48. You’ll get $5.99 in ECBs back. If you pay with previously-earned ECBs instead of cash (we call that “rolling” your ECBs), you don’t pay anything out of pocket and even earn an extra dollar and a half! If you don’t have that Tylenol coupon, use this one for $1 off.
If you’re up for it, try mixing and matching these ECB earners to get the products YOU want or need. Remember that it’s okay to purchase an item you don’t need when it helps you reduce the price on the item(s) you do need.

Hi-
Just came home from CVS and wanted to let you know the ECB deal doesn’t apply to the Migraine version of Excedrin…I tried it and no ECB’s came out. I got an immediate refund (but now I feel sorta bad because they still took my $2 coupon that I printed from your link–whoops). This post was FABULOUS–gave me the courage I needed to go out and conquer CVS! Thank you!
