I plan to combine a current Glade Catalina promo with the new Iron Man DVD promo to get the DVD for very little $$. The two promos are:

Here’s my plan of attack:
Buy 4 Glade Wisp Flameless Candles at $47.16 (my shelf price is $11.79). I’ll use two of the BOGO coupons and try to use two of the $3.00 off coupons (on the “other” two–this may not work at the register). Without those extra coupons, I’ll pay $23.58 and get $16 in Catalinas back (4 times $4.00). So I’ll pay $7.58 and get the DVD (a pretty good deal). If the extra coupons work, I’ll pay $17.58 and get $16 in Catalinas back, paying $1.58 to get the DVD (this would be AWESOME).

So do you get the DVD in the same transaction? Or do you get a coupon for that?
The manager I spoke to thought that a Catalina coupon would print out saying you could redeem it for the DVD, and that if it didn’t happen he’d write me a raincheck for it.
I may wait until the DVD is actually out so I can complete the transaction and have the DVD in hand before leaving the store.
I did this deal today… no Catalina printed out. Manager hadn’t heard of this promotion, but wrote me a “raincheck” of sorts on my receipt. I would have waited until the DVD was actually out, but there were only 4 Glade Wisps left on the shelf…. We’ll hope they follow through on their raincheck.

I’ve done these deals in the past and Safeway has been very good about honoring the DVD offer. A few of the times they were sold out of the DVD in the offer and let me choose any other DVD as a substitute.
A catalina will print out and you bring it over to customer service. The catalina will have a date you must redeem it by….
I tried this deal using the BOGO free coupons for the Glade wisps and a coupon for the DVD did not print out. When I asked the cashier about it she said that my free items did not count toward the $40.00, so techinically I only spent a little over $20. I did receive $16 in Catalinas though.
