This is a great deal! Here’s how easy it is:
1) Walk into Safeway and pick up this week’s ad. At the bottom of page 5 is a coupon for “Free Coca-Cola 8pk or a Dasani Water 12pk Fridge Pack with each 3-card purchase.”
2) Pick out three .99 expressions by Hallmark cards. Not all stores carry the .99 cards.
3) Look for the bin of adorable holiday puppies, FREE with any 3-card purchase. I picked this one; there’s also a cute little guy with green reindeer antlers that I’ll get next time.
4) Pay $2.97 for the three cards, plus any deposit your state has for the bottles (none here, thankfully). The price of the soda and the puppy come off at the register.
5) Rinse and repeat. The coupon doesn’t expire until December 2nd, so pick up a few extra ads while you’re there (the ads will go away Tuesday evening), so you can do this again.
Note–if you plan to stuff stockings with these cute little puppies, any Toys for Tots bin would be happy to take them!

Thanks for posting!! I will definitely do this. In PDX, OR there was a $30 GC for Transferred or New Rx’s which will come in handy and a $10/$50 in the Oregonian Food/Day. Do you get those where you live?

I got the Sunday paper today and there was another $10/$50 exp:11/11/08 in the Oregonian in the Metro section. Maybe it may be in your newspaper?.
This deal didn’t work for me!
I was delighted to see the stuffed toys so I grabbed a couple cards~ and the q for which they had one on the card rack, the stuffed toy and my water.
The toy didn’t come off at the register so I went to customer service. I was told it’s one or the other so I returned the $3 dog!
It’s still a great way to stock up on cards and water.
Oops…forgot to say I am in Northern CA.
Also got the great $10 off $50! Wish we’d get those more often!
