When you’re looking for something to keep the kids busy, take a look in your recycling pile. You can do a lot with “trash,” instead of spending money on arts & crafts supplies. One morning, we made Recycled Puzzles, which I’m storing in zipper bags, and the kids enjoy doing the puzzles over and over.
You need:
a piece of cardboard (I used a Cheerios box)
old magazines
scissors
glue stick
1) Let your child flip through some magazines and find one large picture. You can also glue several small pictures together to make a collage.
2) Use the glue stick to glue the picture to the cardboard. Make sure the edges are stuck down well.
3) Cut the puzzle into pieces. I just free-handed this part, making the pieces pretty simple for the 2-year-olds.
4) Put the puzzle together, and enjoy!

What a cool idea! My daughter liked to play “store” with empty cereal boxes and such when she was younger. I miss those days…..
