Cereal & Milk Deal at Safeway

There's an unadvertised Catalina promo running at Safeway (and its partner stores Dominicks, Genuardis, Vons, Pavilions, Tom Thumb, Randalls, and Carrs) through July 9th. Purchase 3-5 boxes of General Mills Cereal and get a coupon for up to $4.50 of FREE Milk; Buy 6-8 boxes and get TWO coupons. This is the week to do the deal because many GM Cereals are on sale for $2.00/box. Even without coupons, you're paying $6.00 for three boxes of cereal and a gallon of milk, but if you add coupons it can look like this:

3 Whole Grain Total 6.00
- 4.50 (three .75 off Total coupons, which doubled)
- 0.75 (Cellfire e-coupon, only comes off once)

I paid .75 for the cereal and got a printed Catalina coupon for $4.50 of Free Milk. I had two gallons of Lucerne Milk rung up separately and used the coupon right away. I paid a total of $2.23 for 3 boxes of cereal and 2 milk!

Here's a list of GM Cereals on sale for $2.00 (through Tuesday) and their coupon match-ups:

**Although Betty Crocker, Pillsbury, and Box Tops For Education all carry the same coupons, the sites are inter-linked. You can only print two coupons per computer across all the sites. To get more computers, ask friends/neighbors/family to print for you (you can pay them in cereal).

Thanks for Abundant Food Savings for the heads up on this deal.

Hey Gina, Thanks for stopping by- I posted this too but I wasn't that excited since our milk is so spendy and no doubles. Boo. Great deal for you though!

That is quite the sweet cereal deal.

Would you explain about the $2.23 milk. Did Safeway give you $4.50 towards the milk and apply the overage to the second gallon?

Yes, when the cashier scanned the coupon, it took off $4.50.

Hi - I'm new to this. This deal seemed to good to pass up. I have one question though, the coupons I printed off of becentsable say do not double or triple. Did you use the same coupons?

Sorry I'm so late responding, Anon. Although the coupons say that, the code begins with a "5" so the register will automatically double it. I have brought it to the attention of several Safeway managers, and they say it's fine. When the cashier scans the coupon, it doubles.
