Remember this dresser? I bought it for $20 at a yard sale at the end of May.
It’s been a big project, but it is almost done. I know. I can’t believe it either. It was sitting in my dining room forever, but you may have noticed in Sunday’s pics that it’s not there. It’s 90% done, so I moved it up to the twins’ bedroom.
Anyhoo, first I removed the hardware and used a hand sander to get the shiny finish off the whole thing. I primed the drawers and base with primer (leftover from painting our basement 2 years ago), but then I had to bring it all inside because I was getting bugs on the surface. That’s when things stalled…
But then I finally found the scrapbook paper I was looking for ($2.50 total), and emailed to Amy at Mod Podge Rocks, who said I needed the Hard Coat variety for a piece of furniture. So I used some Swagbucks to get my Mod Podge FREE at Amazon (who knew they had craft supplies? Squeal!).
I painted the base a creamy off-white color that I found in the basement under the stairs (left there by the previous owner, but I didn’t want to buy any paint). I’m still working on the drawers with the four sections, because they’re really tricky, but here’s my progress:
So it’s missing a few drawers–that’s my goal for tonight. And the lighting is terrible at night, so you can’t see the pretty lavender walls and how nice it’s going to look. Oh, let me get this done!

It's starting to look good, can't wait to see the finished project!
So pretty! I'm impressed!
Can't wait to see the final result
Looks great!
