WFMW: Use your Vertical Space

Feeling cluttered? Need more space? Find some extra storage space around your home by going vertical! Where do you have unused space that could use a hook or two?

For example, in my coat closet, next to the front door, there are hooks all the way up each side of the closet. They hold bike helmets, butterfly nets, buckets of sand toys, bubble wands, library tote bags, etc. It gets these items up off the floor (so we can have a big mess of shoes down there) and are still within reach.

In my living room, I used this seemingly useless space between the cabinets and the wall to install a 3M press-on hook. It holds all of our superhero capes (yes, there are many) and helps my kids when they clean up. Since the capes have a specific place to go, they get put back there and can be found again when needed.

Where are your sneaky storage spaces?

We are blessed with a lots of storage space. A walk-in closet, hall closet and linen closet allow us to store all the extras.
    Thank you for the tips.

We store our small outdoor toys (bubbles, chalk, balls, race cars) in a box under the powder room sink right by the front door. My son can get them out himself easily.
