What’s not to love about free samples? You get to try products for free before you buy them, and they come in those teeny cute sizes. Now is a great time of year to start collecting free samples to use as stocking stuffers–they’re perfect! I also keep lotion, deodorant, floss, etc. in my diaper bag and in the car for emergencies (you know, the “Did I remember to…?” that happens all the time as a busy mom. I’ve also created office bags for my husband and sister: just a bag full of tiny samples to keep in the desk drawer for those same moments at work.
Back in June, I was thrilled to find these cute blue baskets at Dollar Tree.–a two-pack was just $1.00. I found a matching luggage tag in the dollar aisle at Michael’s. I filled them with free samples I had collected and made an end-of-the-year teacher gift that said Happy Travels!, all for under $2.00.
One of the best places to find free samples is at Walmart.com. They change their selection every few weeks, and you can see what’s new by checking Freebies 4 Mom. I also check Slickdeals’ Freebie forum every few days to see what else is out there. Often times, product websites will offer their own samples, like this sample of Dove Shampoo. I’ve also joined Vocalpoint, which sends out free samples and coupons so you can try new products and provide feedback to the manufacturers.

Good idea! I would have loved receiving something like this for a present back when I was teaching!
