Safeway this week 9/9

NOTE: Safeway deals are also applicable to their partner stores: Dominicks, Genuardis, Vons, Pavilions, Tom Thumb, Randalls, and Carrs. However, I base my write-up on the ad I receive in the Mid-Atlantic. Your prices and coupons may differ in your region of the country.

Yellow or White Peaches are .99/lb.

Gala Apples (our favorites!) are .99/lb.

Yoplait Yogurt is .50/cup when you buy 10. Use this printable $1.00/8, this printable .50/6, or the .40/6 from the 8/9 paper. I usually buy 12 so I can use two of the .50/6 (they double at my store) plus the sale price for a net price of .33/cup.

Tide Detergent or Stain Release is $6.99. Load the P&G eSaver coupon for .35 or .50 off and use a coupon from the 8/30 P&G insert.

Healthy Choice Frozen Meals are $1.99 each when you buy 5 at a time. Use this $1.00/2 printable coupon, the $1.00/2 coupon from the September All You Magazine, or this $2.00/1 printable coupon.

Aunt Jemima Frozen Pancakes are $1.88 each. Use the $1.00/2 coupon from the 8/16 paper.

Mission Medium Flour Tortillas are $2.00, and there was a $1.00 off coupon in the 8/9 paper.

There are quite a few SuperCoupons in this week’s ad; here are the highlights:

  • Tyson Breaded Chicken Selections $3.99, limit 10. Use the $1.00 off coupon from the 8/2 paper.
  • Safeway Boneless Skinless Chicken Breasts $1.69/lb in a 4-lb. bag (frozen), limit 2. This is a great stock-up price.
  • Hormel Natural Choice Lunchmeat is $1.99, limit 5. Use this printable .55 off coupon.
  • Bertolli Olive Oil 17oz. is $4.99, limit 2.
  • Post Honey Bunches of Oats are 4 for $6.00 with SuperCoupon. You must buy 4.
  • A 5-lb. bag of Russet Potatoes is $1.49, limit 2.
  • Red Raspberries are $1.49 for a 5.6oz container, limit 2.
  • Lucerne Large Eggs 18ct. are .99, limit 1.

Note–whenever eggs and potatoes are on sale, like they are this week, I add meals like Savory Omelets and Rosemary Potatoes to my meal plan. By planning meals around the grocery ad, I keep us eating well for very little money!

There’s a 72-Hour Sale running Friday through Sunday with these highlights (see the rest in your ad or here):

  • Digiorno Pizza $3.99, limit 1. Use one of the many $1.00 off coupons that have been in recent inserts (each was for a different variety–Flatbread, Ultimate Toppings, etc.).
  • Bumble Bee Solid White Albacore Tuna .88/can, limit 3.
  • Mission Tortilla Chips .99, limit 1.
  • Large Navel Oranges are .50 each.
  • Lucerne American Cheese is .99, limit 1.

Add E-coupons to your Safeway card three different ways at Shortcuts, Cellfire, and P&G eSaver. You can also print paper coupons at Safeway.com. I have used manufacturer’s coupons on products and still seen the e-coupon savings appear on the receipt.

Don’t forget my BIG news announcement for Safeway shoppers in the DC and Baltimore Metro areas, and keep an eye out for the BIG giveaway that goes along with it!

There are also a few good non-sale coupon match-ups right now.

Shortcuts and Cellfire both have e-coupons for 60¢ off two Old El Paso products. The same coupon is available as a printable at SmartSource. The way that my Safeway "doubles" coupons (they double coupons under $1 up to a maximum total discount of $1) that will come out to $2.20 off any two Old El Paso products. The refried beans are priced at $1.19, so that comes out to two cans of refried beans for 18¢.

There's also a Catalina deal running on Old El Paso products between 9/11 and 10/04. You get $1 off your next beef/chicken purchase for every 3 OElP products; $3 off for every 6 products. I'm veg, so I won't be making use of that, but maybe some of y'all will.

The same constellation of coupons also comes up for Nature Valley Nut Clusters — Cellfire, ShortCuts, and SmartSource printables all have $1.00 off coupons. You end up with $3.00 off one bag of nut clusters.
