Safeway this week 10/7

NOTE: Safeway deals are also applicable to their partner stores: Dominicks, Genuardis, Vons, Pavilions, Tom Thumb, Randalls, and Carrs. However, I base my write-up on the ad I receive in the Mid-Atlantic. Your prices and coupons may differ in your region of the country.

5-lb bag of Red or White Potatoes is BOGO at $4.99. That’s a lot of potatoes! Have you tried these Make Ahead Mashed Potatoes from MomAdvice? Stick a big batch in the freezer, and next time you want mashed potatoes, you can just reheat them in the slow cooker. Plus they’re scrumptious (sour cream makes everything better).

Safeway Boneless Skinless Chicken Breasts or Thighs are $1.69/lb. That’s my target price, so I’ll be stocking up. With 10 pounds of chicken, I can do a Cook Once, Eat 10 Times session and be prepped for a few weeks’ meals.

Lucerne 18ct Large Eggs are .99 with in-ad SuperCoupon.

Great pasta deal! Get 2 FREE Box of Barilla Pasta when you buy 2 Classico Pasta Sauces, on sale for $2.00 each. No coupons out to match up, but still a good deal of $4.00 for 4 products.

There’s a Catalina promo running through October 10 on Kleenex and other products. Buy 3 or more items and get a $3.00 Cat coupon for your next order. Participating items are Boxed Kleenex, Dial Complete Hand Wash, Clorox Disinfecting Wipes, and Oust Air Sanitizer. Your best deal is to buy 4 of the regular 110-ct rectangular boxes of Kleenex for .99 each andand use the $2.00/4 Kleenex SuperCoupon in this week’s Safeway ad (you can pick it up in-store). You’ll pay $1.98 and get a $3.00 Cat back. Thanks to Abundant Food Savings for the details.

The 72-Hour Sale runs Friday through Sunday and includes these sale prices:

  • 80% Lean Ground Beef is $1.49/lb in the Extreme Value Pack
  • Red Roma Tomatoes are .77/lb.
  • Kraft Cracker Barrel Cheese is $1.49, limit 2.
  • Ken’s Salad Dressing is .99, limit 4.

If you get your Flu Shot at Safeway, you’ll receive a coupon for 10% off your next order. That can be a big savings if you save the coupon for a stock-up trip or during the time of a big promotion. Stay healthy!

Add E-coupons to your Safeway card three different ways at Shortcuts, Cellfire, and P&G eSaver. You can also print paper coupons at Safeway.com. I have used manufacturer’s coupons on products and still seen the e-coupon savings appear on the receipt.

My Safeway lets me, but it seems to depend on the manager. Go ahead and ask at Customer Service.

I had a great quick little trip to SW yesterday… thought I'd share some deals I figured out that I haven't seen posted here. I bought 12 drinks, 4 boxes of Kleenex, and a pack of Energizer batteries… paid $8.87 and walked out with 2 Cats worth $13 off my next purchase!!

-Propel drinks are 88cents and there was a 55cent/1 MQ right on the display… making the drinks free after doubling.

-Joint Juice has a Cat deal going on now. I bought 8 JJ drinks and used 4 BOGO MQs (printed from their site… you'd need 2 computers to get 4). I paid $5.56 for the drinks after Qs, and I got a $10 ONYO Cat!

-There's a supercoupon in the ad for $2 off 4 boxes of Kleenex. The 110ct rectangular boxes are 99cents… buy four for $3.98, use the $2 SC, so pay $1.98 OOP and get a $3 ONYO Cat. Even better, use the MQ from the 10/4/09 SS to make this an even bigger money maker!

-Finally, there are packs of Energizer batteries on sale for $4.99. There's a $1MQ printable on their site (or use a $1 insert MQ) and $1 e-coupons from Shortcuts. plus the $1 SW supercoupn from the ad. Makes for some very cheap batteries!

Great finds, Lynn! Thanks for leaving these as a comment. You know my head's not quite back in the game yet.
