Home for the Holidays Promo at Safeway, Take 2

For my second run of Safeway's Home for the Holidays promo, I used a combination of insert and IP coupons, but only my paper coupons doubled (this was new). It didn't matter; the combination of sale prices, coupons and e-coupons made for a great transaction:

4 Bisquick 10.00 (.60 off coupons, 2 doubled, plus 1.20 e-coupons)
2 BC Frosting 3.00 (.50 off coupons, 1 doubled, plus 1.00 e-coupons)
2 BC Cookie Mix 3.00 (.40 off coupons doubled, plus .80 e-coupons)
4 ICBNB Baking Sticks 7.96 (1.00 off coupons)
3 Jell-O 2.07 (I had a $1.25/3 coupon from a booklet I found at Shoppers)

The total started at $26.03, then after all coupons it was down to $12.28. I got back the $5.00 Home for the Holidays Cat coupon plus two $2.00 Cats for buying I Can't Believe It's not Butter Baking Sticks. All in the photo for $3.28? I'll take it.

Great run! I did almost the same thing and had never thought of bisquick as being a good food pantry donation item. I'm going to head back again. I went yesterday (in Vienna) and both my IP and paper coupons scanned.

All my coupons scanned, but the cashier went out of her way to UNDOUBLE the IP coupons. Normally they just scan them and the computer doubles them (and the manager has said that it's fine, because he doesn't want to take the time not to), but this cashier did.

Gina, can I do the HFTH promo twice in one transaction (i.e., buy $50 worth and get 2 $5 cats back)? I'm thinking not but am hoping I'm wrong :)

Thanks!
Cathy

Cathy--I don't believe so. But I was able to separate the transactions with the bar and do two, so you can do two in a day.

I tried this promo for the 1st time tonight. I actually got my HFTH total before coupons to exactly $25. But of course, the darn cat didn't print. I was soooo annoyed that I went through all the planning and effort(went out at night after the kids were in bed and got caught in a big downpour... so all my boxes of groceries got wet).

Anyway, I double checked what I bought against the master list on SlickDeals and I didn't see the Ghiradelli chips that I bought on the master list but I swear they were marked as part of the promo in my store. I'm so annoyed!! Not sure if it's worth my time to go back and argue $5 though... humpf.

Forgot to mention, there is a 75 cent printable MQ for IBCINB (2 prints per computer) along with the $1 printable (5 prints per computer). The 75 cent coupon makes the butter deal a money maker if your store doubles. :)

Lynn--Don't try the store. Just call or email Catalina and give them your receipt info. They'll check for you. If they say the Ghiradelli chips, then I would bring the receipt next time you're at the store and point it out.

Gina, great run! I just love seeing "success stories" like this one!

And Lynn, I know just how you feel. I have been caught in many similar situations, after yes, putting in a lot of effort to plan and just get to the store. There are wins, and not-so-wins. Hang in there...Gina gives great advice though! Good luck.

Hi Gina

I did it! I will post my run shortly.

Thanks so much for the information!

The ICBINB sticks were out! So, it would have been a better deal for me.

I told the young (16 year old) cashier told me that they were out and he said that it has been so busy!

Great diaper deal Holly!

I did go back to my store tonight and double checked the Ghiradelli chips... at my store ALL the Ghiradelli chips are marked with tags for the promo (I even took a picture of them with my camera). There's even a display of the chips with the big HFTH Promo in the front of the store. So, now I do think I will call Catalina and see if I can get my $5 sent to me...
