Thrift Store Thursday

I thought my yard sale days were over; it’s cold, it’s rainy. But last weekend one of our local churces had a Holiday Bazaar, and I happened upon their “White Elephant” room. The prices were low, the junk was plentiful. But I found a few good items. And then a nice older lady announced, “We don’t want to clean it up, so you can take whatever you can fit in a bag for $1.00.” It was fantastic.

I didn’t go crazy. I didn’t need a bunch of junk in my house. But I found a few items to be spray painted: these peg racks, that long frame. I love the wire basket with the tag still on it. And the flowers add great height to my bedroom dresser. But the piece de resistance…

Can you see it? It’s got good bones. I want it to be white with inspirational sayings across those front slats. I can’t decide between fillingl it with colorful crafty stuff in my office or colorful picture books in the twins’ room. It was $1.50, and once I find the time to tackle it, it’s going to be awesome.

Have you found any thrifty treasures lately?
