How does 10 boxes of FREE crackers sound? I know these will get eaten in my house during the holidays. This week you can combine a store sale with coupons and a mail-in rebate to get 10 boxes of Nabisco Crackers for FREE:
1) Head to Safeway (or its partner stores) today through Tuesday, December 15th. Nabisco Crackers are part of a Buy 5, Save $5 Sale. With the promo, I can get 10 boxes of Wheat Thins or Triscuits for just $1.49/box. Other varieties are on sale as well; look for details in my weekly Safeway post.
2) Reduce your out-of-pocket cost further by using coupons. There was a $1.00 off 1 box coupon in the 11/8 newspaper insert. You may have also picked up the Keep the Jingle in Your Holiday booklets around the grocery store; it has a $1.00/2 coupon inside. Here’s a printable $1.00/2 coupon from Kraft. You should be able to print two per computer.
3) Submit your original register receipt for a $10 mail-in rebate from Kraft. This is the same rebate that I shared with you in October, but they’ve reset the dates so you can do it again! Your purchases need to be between 12/1/09-1/31/10 and received by 2/15/10. One offer per household. This rebate is so easy because you only need to circle your purchases on the receipt, not cut out the UPC codes from the boxes.
With all three of the above steps, your transaction may look like this:
10 Boxes of Crackers 14.90
5 $1/2 coupons -5.00
You pay $9.90 plus tax out of pocket, then get back $10 by mail from Kraft = FREE crackers!
This promo is running at Safeway and its partner stores: Dominicks, Genuardis, Vons, Pavilions, Tom Thumb, Randalls, and Carrs.

This is a great tip. My family loves Wheat Thins. Thanks so much. Going to gather my coupons now.
Thanks Gina!
On Saturday I bought the 3 Post cereals for $.99 each (didn't have time to tell you) but I got a $1 catalina for buying them! That is 3 boxes of cereal for $1.97!
Plus, there was a 2/$1.00 coupon for Post cereal in Sunday's paper so that would have been a really good deal. 3 boxes for $.97!
Too bad some deals go so fast that you don't have enough time to tell others.
I will use my catalina and try to get those crackers. My little one loves them.
I missed out on doing this last time and still have a coupon left. I'm excited! Our grocery ads didn't show up in the mail yesterday like they normally do, so I will look online and see if our Vons (Safeway affliate) has this sale as well.
Great job, Holly!
PH–it should. Usually these promos are national and are good at Vons, Genuardi's, Tom Thumb, Dominicks, etc.
So, can you buy 10 boxes in one transaction? Or do need to buy 5 boxes in one transaction with the coupon? Thanks for the great deal.
Anon–Yes, you can buy 10 at once, and you'll see two $5.00 subtractions on your receipt.
Thanks for posting this great deal. I love Wheat Thins!
Our Vons has this deal. You do need to buy all 5 boxes in one transaction to get the sale price. They also have some Nabisco crackers (Ritz is one) as part of this sale, but they are $1.99 instead of $1.49. Some are .99! It's hard to see which ones on the litle tiny online picture but I can check the ad at the store.
Nice! I totally forget about this rebate – thanks for the reminder.
I went today to do this deal and none of the crackers were on sale at the prices you list Maybe it starts Friday here? I am in DE – Safeway MidAtlantic. Nothing posted anywhere about the $5 off.
Came home with milk, bread and bananas anyway.
I looked up the weekly ad for Dover, DE and see it on page 2:

I'm not sure why your store doesn't have the signage/sale prices up. Maybe you should bring it to the attention of the manager! They have to honor what is in the weekly ad.
Man! Looks like it is everywhere but at my Safeway. Bummer.

I have a different add that shows and I couldn't find it in there anywhere.
Ah, another deal, another day.

Hello – I'm wondering if you happen to know: is this good for any Nabisco cracker? Or is it just the ones in the picture on the rebate? I'm new to couponing and I'm not sure how literally to take the direction 'participating Nabisco crackers'? Thanks
Kelly–when you click on the mail-in rebate form (it's printable), you'll see a photo of all the participating crackers that work for the rebate.
To see which crackers are including in the Buy 5, Save $5 sale at Safeway, go to the website for your store (Safeway, Vons, etc.) and try to shop online. Put in Nabisco Crackers and you'll see red words under the participating varieties. Alternately, you can head to your store and check the shelf tags.
Just a quick update! The sale showed up in Friday's ad so looks like I will take another trip back.

I'm so tempted to go but I don't have any of those coupons with me and I don't have the ability to print them either.
Without the coupons it would be $14.90 – $10.00 rebate = $4.90 + tax. Not bad for 10 boxes of crackers. That makes them $.49 each.
Hmmm..and I have a $1.00 Catalina that expires this weekend. Which would make them $.39 a box.
I think I might do it. Wish me luck!
I did it! So, including tax it cost me $.427 for $10 boxes + postage for the rebate. Not bad! Thanks Moneywise Moms!
I wish we had a Safeway!
