Giveaway Day 2: Scholastic Books

This week, I’m celebrating two big occasions: my 37th birthday and Moneywise Moms’ 2nd year blogoversary. To celebrate the right way, I’m showering my readers with 7 Days of Giveaways. Welcome to Day 2!

My background as an elementary school teacher prepared me to stay home with my three kids, and with it came my self-bought classroom library. We have hundreds of children’s books in our house, and it’s one of our great sources of joy. All three of my children love to be read to, love to flip through their own books, and are beginning to read themselves. If yours aren’t old enough yet, let me tell you what an amazing feeling it is once your first-born gets lost in a book for the first time. All summer, my son would disappear somewhere in the house, to be found holed up in a closet or behind the couch with a good book. I loved it!

I’m sure you’re familiar with Scholastic Books. I’ve mentioned them before as a great source of Inexpensive Kid Birthday Gifts. Each month, both schools send home the monthly book flier, and I love that they offer so many high-quality children’s authors and illustrators. We’ve bought Mo Willems, Eric Carle, even Jack Prelutsky poetry. There’s an online Scholastic Store for similar offerings plus bigger and better items, like this Star Wars Pop-up Book I bought last year, which is a huge hit at our house. And, if you’re a real book nut like me, you might want to follow Scholastic’s Blog.

Thanks to Scholastic, one lucky reader will win a Set of 5 Scholastic Books, customized to your child’s age. You have two chances to enter:

  • Leave a comment below letting me know your favorite children’s book or author. Please be sure and leave your email if it’s not available in your profile. To avoid spam, space it out like: ginava3 (at) yahoo (dot) com
  • Are you a subscriber or follower? Thank you! I love my subscribers, so you get an extra entry. Just leave another comment saying you’re a subscriber.

*Update: This giveaway is closed! The winner is Priya.
This giveaway ends on Sunday, January 10th at 10:00pm EST. US addresses only, please. I will choose a winner using Random.org and email the winner, who has 48 hours to respond and claim his/her prize. If the winner does not respond, I will choose another winner. Good luck!

*Disclosure: Scholastic Books has offered a book set to give away on my blog. Please note that the
opinions expressed in this post are my own and that I was not compensated in any way for this giveaway.
