One of my personal goals for the year has been to dive back into my photos. I scrapbooked for 10 years before I had my kids, and then after I had my son I kept it up. I was up to date with photos up until I hit bedrest and twins (funny how that can throw you for a loop!). It took me two years to make each of the girls’ baby books, but they’re done….and then it stopped. Now, my digital photos are nicely organized on my computer, but they’re still there. I actually make the kids curl up on the couch and we pull the laptop out and run a slideshow to look at our memories–how sad is that?!
This past September, when I attended the Type A Mom Conference, I was so pleased to see Creative Memories there. I was a CM consultant for many years in my pre-twins life. They’ve had digital options for years; I love the Memory Manager software and have been using it to stay organized, but I hadn’t taken the next step to make albums. I know that StoryBook Creator Plus will help me make beautiful digital albums quickly, with all the creative parts I loved in the old days, but so much faster and easier. . Actually, my goal for this year is to get 100 plus years of slides, polaroids and film into a digital format and create digital scrapbooks for my family and give them on DVDs as Christmas gifts. It's a big project but I'm looking forward to getting it done! Especially before the older photos and slides fall to peices. Anyways, I hadn't heard that CM had digital software until last week. Oh, what a great giveaway! My daughter is now 14 months and as of November the only part of her life that I had scrapbooked was our first few days in the hospital. Wanting her to know that she did indeed have a life outside of the hospital, I got to work and finished about 22 pages in a week. Oh man – that would be AWESOME!!! Not only are my 2009 pictures on my computer (and saved to an xternal HD too) – but so are all my pictures from 2005 till today.
