Green Lunchbox Update

It’s the first week of school, and so far I’m doing well with my plan to Green our Lunchboxes. I’m loving the Easy Lunchboxes System. My son is using the lunchbox along with a Thermos Funtainer and the Easy Lunchboxes Cooler Bag every day, and there have been no spills!

Today’s lunch was a turkey sandwich with pesto mayo, a cheese stick, apples and grapes, and yogurt-covered raisins for dessert. It’s a little fruit-heavy today, as I usually do one fruit and one veggie, but he’s a good eater so he’ll have plenty with dinner.

I’ve stopped buying juice boxes and am using a stainless steel water bottle to include apple juice or water each day. My son likes having more to drink, and it’s costing me even less than when I found good coupon deals on juice boxes. I’ve been sticking a little note in each day with the napkin, and there’s an ice pack under the lunchbox.

So far, so good, and my son has been eager to brainstorm ways to use leftovers and other ways to “jazz” up lunch. Since he’s allergic to peanuts, we don’t get into the PB&J rut that many families do. I love hearing what others are packing for lunch–what did you pack this week?
