Grocery Savings Day 14: Break Down Larger Packages

I’m sharing 31 Days of Grocery Savings during the month of March so you can tackle your grocery spending and improve your family budget. See the roundup of video posts.

Today’s strategy is to break down larger packages into smaller ones. I use this to save money on lunchbox-sized portions of yogurt, fruit, applesauce, pretzels, and more. I also use it on the large family-size packs of beef, pork, and chicken, where I spend less per pound and then use freezer safe bags or containers to portion out the meat to freeze for later.
