I’m sharing 31 Days of Grocery Savings during the month of March so you can tackle your grocery spending and improve your family budget. See the roundup of video posts.
Today’s strategy is to buy food in season. Especially with produce–you need to shop what’s on sale and not what you feel like having, for the sake of your budget. Some families go so far as to join a CSA (community-supported agriculture) group, where you get a box of in-season produce every week. This can be a great savings if you use the in-season food and not let it go to waste. Farmer’s Markets will be starting in May, and in some areas produce costs much less (not here, though!).
