It’s one of my favorite sale of the year! This week, Crayola markers and crayons are Buy 1, Get 2 FREE at Toys R Us stores. If you’re doing back-to-school shopping, you’ll find that a single pack of markers or crayons costs a little more than you’d pay at Target or Walmart, but you get THREE for that price. For example:
- Crayola 64ct Crayons (the BIG box) are $4.99. Buy 1, Get 2 FREE = $1.66/each
- Crayola 5ct Window Crayons are $4.99. Buy 1, Get 2 FREE = $1.66/each
- Crayola 16ct PipSqueaks Wacky Tips Markers are $6.99. Buy 1, Get 2 FREE = $2.33/each
I like this sale for other reasons–to stock up on “fancy” Crayola products for birthday gifts for all ages. This sale helps me meet my goal of only spending $5-7 on kids’ gifts. I’ve found that kids like the Twistables and markers that let you mix colors–they’ll be on sale, too!
With a little creativity, you can turn these sale-priced art supplies into a personalized gift for $5-6. I took a cute bin from the Dollar Tree, filled it with sale-priced supplies and some stickers (also from the Dollar Tree), and personalized it for the recipient with alphabet stickers. This gift works best for ages 3-12, and it’s very budget-friendly. It’s a great way to handle the many birthday parties my three kids attend.
