Halloween Clothespin Photo Holders

I love decorating with Halloween photos from years’ past. It’s so fun to see all the costumes my children have enjoyed over the years. This Halloween Clothespin Photo Holders project is easy enough for a beginner. I found these jumbo wooden clothespins at ACMoore. They come in three sizes–6″, 12″ and gigantic. The little 6″ clothespins are just $1 each. Decorated and embellished, they make frugal Halloween decor or a cute gift for someone special. With the larger striped clothespin, I added a Halloween tag with removable tape so I could use anytime during the year.

Supplies you’ll need:

• Jumbo Wooden Clothespins
• Paint (I changed my mind and spray painted, which was much easier)
• Foam brushes
• Mod Podge
• Scrapbook paper
• Embellishments (if desired–stickers, foam, buttons, ribbon, etc.)

 Dismantle your clothespin. To fit the scrapbook paper to the flat sides of the clothespin, either trace onto the back of the paper, or measure the clothespin and cut paper to fit the flat sides. I like the look of the paint showing around the edges, so I cut my paper a little smaller all the way around.

Apply a thin layer of Mod Podge to the flat side of the clothespin and a thin layer to the back of the paper. Place the paper onto the clothespin, smoothing out bubbles as you go. Once dry, give the top and sides another thin coat of Mod Podge to seal the entire clothespin.

Embellish your clothespins with stickers, punched paper, ribbon, and more. Choose your favorite Halloween photos and mount onto cardstock so they’ll stand up straight.

These Halloween Clothespin Photo Holders are so cute for decorating! You could even do one side Halloween and the other side Thanksgiving or Christmas, then just flip your clothespin around when the season changes!
