So I’m on Pinterest. Some of you already noticed. Thanks for following me.
Like most social media, I waited to see how it was used, how I might use it, why I might need it. And like most, this one got me good. Lots of late nights, lots of pins that never turn into me actually making or doing anything, lots of not-feeling-like-a-perfect-mom because someone is out there making everything Martha-like. Phooey.
So I backed off. But I’m back on. And here’s why you might want to join me:
I’m keeping track of the books I’m reading this year, with tiny Pinterest-sized reviews of each, on my Books I’ve Read 2012 board. If you’re looking for a book suggestion for your copious free time (ha!), check it out.
We’re keeping our gifts very frugal this year, and I’m also encouraging creativity in my kids (and myself). You know, by copying other people. I have a board called Gifts Kids Can Actually Make that includes crafts I’ve found that I know we can really do. And we will do some of them. I’m serious.
Some of my boards are just collections of things I find that I like, like Lego Love. I really do prefer using Pinterest to catalog the links I once bookmarked. With recipes, for example, I would just have these huge lists of bookmarks. As a visual person, I like seeing the photo of the recipe and knowing at a glance what link I’m clicking on. Pinterest is working for me that way.
Do I only have three Pinterest Boards? Darling, that’s not how Pinterest works! I just picked these out to encourage you to stop by. See you there

LOVE the board about gifts kids can make! My girls are starting to talk about Christmas presents to give our family members and this is the perfect resource. Thanks!!!
Your newest follower! Thanks for the great tips! I also creeped around a little – love your list of giveaways – I will be entering! With me being a SAHM and my hubby out of work, we could use some budgeting tips! Looking forward to more great ideas!
