Shopping at Target this season? Aren’t we all?! I do my grocery shopping at Target, and it’s hard not to swing by the kids’ clothing and kids’ toy sections looking for holiday gifts. It’s convenient and I love matching the weekly sales to my kids’ wish lists. I took a stroll through Target’s toy section to pick out some favorite kids’ gifts to share:
You know we love board games–that’s a major form of entertainment at our house, one we share with friends and family. I was so thrilled to see some of our favorite strategy games, the kind you used to have to search out in specialty game shops, now on the shelf at Target. Ticket to Ride, Dixit, and Pandemic are great games for families that you’ve probably never heard of-but they’re our favorites!
Hot Wheels cars are a classic gift for a reason: every generation loves them! My two nephews, ages 2 and 3, are completely obsessed with vehicles, so this is an easy gift idea for me. And I was happy to see an expanded selection of Mellisa & Doug toys at Target at good prices. These wooden toys last forever and can either be passed down to family or resold at a yard or consignment sale.
I noticed the Lego section at Target was better stocked for holiday shopping. We love the Creator sets with the 3-in-1 directions. My kids love being able to change up their creations multiple times. And my son is really into Magic the Gathering cards right now; it’s a collectible card game that we enjoy playing.
Target already has great prices, but there’s always room to save a little more money! Therefore…
My top 3 ways to save on Kids’ Gifts at Target:
- Load the Cartwheel App onto your phone so you can scan e-coupons at the cashier. It’s my favorite way to save on Target brands like up and up, but you can also get great coupons on kids’ clothing and toys.
- You can still print coupons from the Target website, check out the toys and clothing sections. Plus, you can combine these store coupons with newspaper insert and printable coupons for toys. Double savings!
- Price match! Remember that you can take any competitor’s ad into Target with you and pay their price for the same item. This price match policy saves you time & travel so you don’t have to go to multiple stores.
