Hallmark $5 off $10 Coupon in December Magazines

Check this month’s magazines for a great coupon: $5 off $10 at Hallmark Stores. I had so much fun with this coupon last year! Remember the cute Little Gifty I made from a Hallmark cheese plate? That was passed around and around at our MOMS Club Holiday Party–they loved it! There are tons of great little gifts at Hallmark, and this coupon helps you save when gifting your child’s teacher, a friend, or anyone.

I found my coupon in the December 2011 issue of Parents Magazine. Please let me know if you find one in another magazine, and I’ll add it to this post. Thanks!

Also found in Redbook and Martha Stewart Living–thanks, Angela!

Moneywise Halloween: More Halloween Candy Sales

Toys R Us has Hershey, Mars/M&M and Skittles Halloween candy for just $1.99/bag. This is a great price in itself, but use the coupons below to pay even less!

If you don’t want to go to Toys R Us remember that you can price match at Target and Walmart using the Toys R Us ad that came in Sunday’s paper. Just bring it to the register (they may send you to customer service) and get the same bags of candy at Target/Walmart for $1.49 each. And yes, you can still use coupons!

A few other deals around town this week:

Kroger is offering a Halloween Sale on Tuesday, October 18th, that combines coupons, sale prices, and a Catalina resulting in candy at .28-$1.28/bag. Head over to Savings Lifestyle for the details on this deal.

Rite Aid has a deal where you get a $5 Up Reward back when you spend $15 on selected bags of candy. An “Up Reward” is a coupon that prints at the end of your receipt that you can use on your next purchase. If you don’t plan to go back to Rite Aid, just have something ready for a second transaction to use up the $5. Buy 6 bags of Fun Size and Snack Size bags at $2.50 each (Hershey brand is excluded). I used two of the $1.50/3 coupons from the 10/9 RedPlum insert and paid only $7 for 6 bags of candy after Up Reward.

Giant/Stop&Shop has a sale through Thursday October 20th where you get 5 bags of Hershey’s Snack Size or Mars/Nestle Fun Size Candy for $10. Use the $1.00/2 Nestle Fun Size from the 10/16 or print one, and you’ll pay $8 at checkout for 5 bags.

Walgreens has an in-ad coupon making Halloween Peeps 2 for $1. Use this printable coupon and pay just .25 each when you buy two.

Gather up your manufacturer coupons from inserts and online:

Staples $5 off $25 Coupon + Free Batteries

Through next Saturday, October 22nd, get $5 off your $25 purchase in-store at Staples with this printable coupon. Unfortunately, it’s not valid on HP ink and toner or Copy & Print self-serve, but you can use it on lots of other things, like this FREE Batteries deal:

Starting Sunday at Staples and running all week, get  FREE Duracell Batteries after Staples Rewards. Look for the 16-packs of AA or AAA Duracell Batteries, which should be about $14.29. Here’s how to get them FREE:

  1. Sign up for Staples Rewards if you haven’t already.
  2. Purchase either the AA or AAA Duracell Batteries. Be sure it’s the 16-pack; my store usually has them front-and-center when you walk in the door during deals like this. Limit 2 per customer.
  3. Use the $5 off $25 coupon and pay around $23 plus tax. You’ll receive the full purchase price (minus the coupon) back via Staples Rewards, which you will receive via email (they no longer send it through the mail). You’ll be able to print your Rewards certificate to use in-store or you can use the credit online. Usually I receive Staples Rewards about a month after purchase.

I’ve been using the Staples Rewards program for years and have been very happy with it.

Cereal/Milk Deal at Giant and Stop & Shop

Starting today, there’s a great deal on General Mills Cereal & Milk at Giant and Stop & Shop stores. Through Thursday, October 20th, when you buy 4 boxes of participating General Mills cereal, you’ll automatically get $4 off at the register, plus you’ll get a Catalina coupon for FREE Milk. That Catalina coupon says “up to $4.50″ and will get you a FREE gallon of regular milk or apply $4.50 towards more expensive milk, such as organic. You’ll have two weeks to use your Catalina coupon.

Gather up your manufacturer coupons! Here’s what is available right now:

Be sure and check the shelf tags to see which cereals are participating. Since the cereal is not on sale this week, your best bet is to combine the $4 off with manufacturers coupons to pay less out-of-pocket.

Prices vary at each store and region, but here’s what I found at my store:

  • Honey Nut Cheerios was the only one on sale, at $3.00.
  • Chex (all varieties) $3.99
  • Cinnamon Cheerios $3.49
  • Cinnamon Toast Crunch, Cocoa Puffs, Trix $3.39
  • Fruity Cheerios, Honey Nut Cheerios, Multigrain Cheerios $3.99
  • Golden Grahams $3.19
  • Kix $3.99
  • Lucky Charms $3.69
  • Original Cheerios $3.29-$3.69
  • Total $3.79

Let’s say you want the Honey Nut Cheerios: Buy 4 boxes for $12, and use two printable $1.00/2 coupons. You’ll pay $6.00 for four boxes of cereal and get a FREE Milk coupon.
