Free Summer Bowling for Families 2022

School is almost out, so it’s time to plan some frugal fun activities for the kids. How about some free summer bowling?

Summer vacation means finding frugal fun with the kids. Head out for FREE summer bowling at a lane near you!

If you’re looking for more to do this summer besides free & low-cost movies and free museums, head to your local bowling alley for some FREE summer bowling. Find these programs at lanes nationwide!

What are free summer bowling programs?

Free summer bowling programs are hosted at local bowling alleys and they allow kids to bowl for free. Bowling programs are a great choice for indoor fun during those hot summer days. This program also allows you to get out of the house, enjoy some indoor exercise, and of course…it’s fun!

Kids Bowl Free

This long-running program gives kids two FREE games per day during the bowling center’s eligible hours. Find a participating bowling center near you to see the hours, and register for passes good for that specific alley.

On Sundays, you’ll receive an email with that week’s passes for each child. Once you register, you can also purchase a Family Pass good for up to 4 adults to bowl along with the kids.

Summer Games at AMF, Bowl America and Bowlero

Kids 15 and under get 3 FREE games every day plus shoe rental with the Summer Games Kid Pass for $33.95. 16+ and parents’ passes are $52.95, and they offer a bundle for 2 kids + 2 adults/teens.

You have to choose one local center to use that pass, and not all locations are participating, so be sure to enter your zip code to see. You can also pay more for a Summer Games Passport that is good at all locations nationwide.

What about shoes and shoe rental?

Remember that not all programs include shoe rental, and that expense can add up. At our local bowling alley, shoe rental is almost $5/person, so it wouldn’t take very many trips to recoup the cost of buying your own bowling shoes.

Where can I buy my own bowling shoes?

Take a look at Craigslist and Ebay, and if you can’t find them used, buy new at Amazon (thanks for using my affiliate link at no additional cost to you).

Then, when the kids grow out of them, you can sell them to someone else on eBay, Craigslist, or the Facebook Marketplace!

I just learned the bowling alley on our side of town has closed. The kids liked to go in the summer. Bummer. Thank you for sharing at What’d You Do This Weekend? Hope to see you back next week!
