I spend most of a snowy afternoon yesterday working in the kitchen. I did a Cook Once, Eat 10 Times session for both ground beef and chicken since I had picked them both up on sale last week. Now the freezer is stocked with meals to make life easier the next few (crazy) weeks. The cold weather has me wanting soup and homemade bread, too, so I’ll be putting those on my meal plan a lot. You can check out the big linky at I’m an Organizing Junkie for more meal plans and recipes. Here’s what we’re eating this week:
Sunday–Hamburgers, homemade fries, veggies and dip
Monday–Pineapple Pork Chops, green beans, rice
Tuesday–Spinach Pie, corn muffins
Wednesday–Beef tacos (using the meat I precooked on Sunday), fixings, black beans and rice
Thursday–Leftovers of the week so far
Friday–Meatball soup (I can’t wait! I’ve been craving this and waiting for cold weather), homemade bread
Saturday–Crockpot chicken cacciatore, spaghetti, broccoli
And now for a food-themed giveaway! While I like having the usual, traditional recipes every year for the big holiday dinner, it is nice to try something new once in a while. How about you? I have a Southern Living Christmas Cookbook that will help you plan your meal and try new flavors, or you can just give it as a gift.
To enter, just leave a comment below with your name and email address (remember to space out your email to avoid spam–like ginava3 at yahoo dot com) and tell me one of your favorite holiday recipes–something you must have on the table every year. You must have this as part of your entry or it will be deleted.
This giveaway ends Friday, December 11th at 10:00pm EST, when I’ll choose the winner using Random.org. US & Canada addresses only, please, since I’m mailing it myself. Thank you for reading Moneywise Moms, and good luck! **Update: This giveaway is closed. Thanks for entering!
*Disclosure: This giveaway prize comes from me.
