This ad has something new, “Combo Deals,” where you buy two products for one price. For example, when you buy Windex Glass Cleaner + Safeway Paper Towel, it’s $2.99. Use the Windex coupon from the 5/10 paper, which may double at some stores. The other combos are Doritos Chips + 2 Pepsi 20oz bottles for $1.99, Safeway Bread + Bumble Bee Tuna for $1.99, Safeway Bacon + Lucerne Eggs for $2.99, Strawberries + Angel Food Cake for $3.99, and Mott’s Apple Juice + Keebler Chips Deluxe Cookies for $2.99.

Meal Planning Monday

I’m looking at a very busy week, and next week isn’t any better! We have guests this weekend and next, plus my twins’ birthday party and sundry other activities. I decided to sit down and plan out three weeks’ worth of meals and get most of the shopping done so I’d only have to run out for milk and produce. It means less trips, less work, and less hassle during a busy few weeks of life. I appreciate meal planning!

Thanks to the all the FREE cereal coupons that Shoppers put in the Washington Post, I broke my shopping up into several transactions, since you had to spend $10 to use the FREE cereal coupon each time. I ended up with five FREE boxes (in less than five trips, since hubby helped), and spent only $35 after coupons for all of it. I got milk, produce, cheese, bread, plus the ingredients I needed to make the specific meals I have planned for the next two weeks. Since my freezer has some pre-cooked beef and plenty of chicken, I’m all set for the next three weeks.

Sunday–We attended an afternoon party, so we had a very light dinner of vegetables on pasta, tossed with olive oil and Parmesan cheese.

Monday–Beef Stew and bread machine bread

Tuesday–Veggie Pizza

Wednesday–Beef Tacos (with the pre-cooked beef), black beans, fixins

Thursday–Chicken, Peppers and Potatoes, green peas

Friday–Spinach Pie, leftover bread

Saturday–Chicken Stir-Fry and brown rice

For more meal plans and recipes, head over to $5 Dinners to see the Mr. Linky. She’s hosting Meal Planning Monday this week because OrgJunkie is out of town.

More Triple/Double Coupons at Shoppers

The fun is not over yet–Shoppers Food has extended its Triple/Double Coupons for another week through March 4th. Shoppers stores are located in Virginia, Maryland, and Delaware. Last week, this promo was only running at Northern VA stores. You’ll need to check your local ad to see if your store is participating.

TRIPLE coupons applies up to .50, and DOUBLE coupons goes up to $1.00. The number of coupons is unlimited, so stock up when you can. Most stores do not provide overage, meaning that if an item is $1.39, and you have a .50 coupon that triples, you’ll get the item FREE but not the extra .11 off. I’ve heard from a few readers here and there that they did get overage in previous sales. Also, Corporate policy is that they will NOT accept internet printable coupons over .99.

For some regular shelf prices and current coupon matchups, see last week’s posts and the many helpful comments left by readers. Here are some new matchups using the sale prices in the new ad:

Charmin Basic 12 Roll is $5.99. There was a .25 off coupon in the 2/8 P&G insert.

Bounty Basic 8 Roll is also $5.99. There was a .25 off coupon in the 2/8 P&G insert.

Dannon Activia is $2.00. Use the $1.00 off coupon from the 1/11 insert to get it FREE.

Nabisco 100 Calorie Packs are $2.99. If you can find the granola bar variety, there was a .75 off coupon in the Sunday paper 2/22, which will double, making it $1.49.

Oral-B Toothbrushes are $2.50, and there was a $1.00 off coupon in the 2/8 P&G insert.

There’s a coupon in the ad for a FREE Clorox Disinfecting Wipes when you purchase any 2 of the following: Pine-Sol, Clorox Bathroom Cleaner, Clorox Wipes, Formula 409, Clorox Kitchen Cleaner, or Clorox Bleach. This is a manu coupon that can be used at any store, not just Shoppers.

Triple Coupons at Shoppers

Here we go again! Shoppers Food is offering another whole week of Double/Triple Coupons from Thursday, February 19 through Wednesday, February 25. Shoppers stores are located in Virginia, Maryland, and Delaware. **However, this promo appears to be only going on at the Northern VA stores.

They’ve changed the terms, so pay attention: TRIPLE coupons applies up to .50, and DOUBLE coupons goes up to $1.00. There was previously a limit of 4 coupons for identical items, though I don’t see that in the ad this week.

In the past, I have used this as a great opportunity to stockpile salad dressing, frozen veggies, canned goods, toothbrushes, and more. I’m also able to stretch my dollars to donate staples like pasta to our local food bank. Thanks to the great Commenters on the Shoppers posts, we have a great idea of what to look for when these Triple Coupon Days come up, which they appear to be doing monthly. Here are some matchups using recent coupons:

  • Betty Crocker Frosting is $1.59. Use the .50 off from the 2/8 paper or this .55 off printable.
  • Bisquick is regularly priced at $2.99. Use this printable for .60 off to make it $1.79.
  • Colgate Toothpaste is $1.99. Use the coupon on the back page of the Shoppers’ ad or the $1.00 off from the 2/1 paper to get it FREE.
  • Dannon DanActive Yogurt is $2.00. Use the $1.00 off from the 1/11 paper to get it FREE.
  • Daisy Sour Cream is $2.00. Use the .50 off coupon from the 1/18 paper to get it for .50.
  • G.U.M. Kids’ Flossers are $1.89. Use the .55 off coupon from the 2/1 paper to get these for .79.
  • Lysol Toilet Bowl Cleaner is $2.39. Use the .75 off coupon from the 2/8 paper to get it for just .89. There is also a printable .50 off coupon here.
  • Minute Rice is $2.19. Use the .50 off coupon from the 1/4 paper to get it for .69. They make Instant Brown Rice, too.
  • Tribe Hummus is $2.50. Use this .55 off printable to get it for $1.40.
  • Wacky Mac Pasta is $1.39. Use this printable for .50 off, and it will be FREE.
  • Wet Ones are regularly priced at $2.29. Use the .75 off coupon from the 2/8 paper to get them for .79.
  • Ziploc Bags vary in price depending on the size, but you can use the .40 off coupon from the 2/8 paper or the .55 off from the 1/11 paper.

Hmmm…some of the deals aren’t quite as great because they’re only doubling those .75 off coupons. Last time, I got tons of Wet Ones for just 4 cents each. On the other hand, they’re doubling $1.00 off coupons, and they didn’t do that before, so there will be some great freebies to be had using current coupons. Thanks in advance for sharing your successes!

PS–there’s a promo on page 2 of the ad where you Buy 10, Save $10 on General Mills products. I’ll find out if this still works after the coupons apply, because if it does, WHOO WEE, we’re going to get some good stuff.
