Welcome to this week’s Way Back Wednesday linky! We’re sharing oldie-but-goodie links, especially those for the holidays. As we head into the Thanksgiving and winter holidays, it’s a great time to start or continue family traditions. I like to sit down with everyone and have a family chat about expectations for the holiday–what we want to make sure we do, what we want to avoid (being too busy or stressed), and how we’ll achieve those goals. We choose a couple of events to attend that are most important, and say no to the rest. We are traveling for both holidays this year, and we have some busy weekends with sports and other activities, so it would be easy to slip into chaos (especially for me, who likes my routines and structure), so getting everyone on board and helping out makes a big difference.
Head over to my Christmas Pinterest board if you’re looking for EASY and do-able foods, decor, traditions and more.
My favorite posts from last week’s link-up:
Yes, I know it’s not even Thanksgiving yet, but planning ahead for Christmas means saving money. A lot of the daily deal sites are offering discount tickets to the drive- and walk-through lights displays in our area. Even if you just plan to drive around your own neighborhood, this Christmas Lights Scavenger Hunt from The Evolution of Mom will make it more fun, especially for big kids. My 9-year-olds were excited when I showed them this printable, and they want to use it on a clipboard in the car when we do our traditional drive-to-look-at-lights.
With cookie exchanges, potlucks and parties coming up in December, I was excited to see these German Chocolate Cake Balls from Rose Bakes. They’re easy to make and are something different than the usual Christmas cookie to share. I think they’d be fun to make with my kids.
Let’s get to the link-up!
This link party is specifically for older posts that you want to bring some new attention to. They can be unedited or completely rewritten. If you’re a blogger, it’s a great reason to re-visit an old post and update it with a new, Pinnable image! Here’s what to do:
1. Click the blue “Add your link” button and follow the instructions to add your link and image.
2. You can submit up to 3 posts per week and you are welcome to share posts you’ve linked up before. (Just don’t be spammy about it.) Please no link-ups, giveaways, or sponsored posts.
3. Visit other blogs and leave a comment to let them know how you found them.
