Free and Low-Cost Summer Movies for Kids 2024

School is out as early as Memorial Day Weekend in some parts of the country! Start thinking about your kids’ summer activities like free summer movies. Depending on the chain, they’re either free or very low-cost, just $1.50-5.

Look for your local movie chain on the big list below. This list has been updated for Summer 2024.

National Theater Chains

Alamo Drafthouse Cinema has Kids Camp with family movies for $5/person. Program runs June through August, so click on your local theater to see their schedule.

AMC Theatres is offering Summer Movie Camp on Wednesdays. Admission is $3 per person.

B&B Theatres offers their Kids Summer Series with $5 movies (just $3 if you sign up as a member for free). Once the schedule is out, click on your local theater’s link for more info.

BowTie Cinemas is expected to offer FREE movies every Tuesday and Wednesday morning at 10:00am starting in June. (their website is not updated yet).

Cinemark Theatres offers Summer Movie Clubhouse on Wednesdays for $1.50/show, beginning on June 19th and running through August 10th. They also offer $1 off kids’ snack packs or any size popcorn & drink combo.

Classic Cinemas offers their Wednesday Morning Movie Series for $2.00/show, starting June 5th and running through August 7th. They have entertainment and games starting at 9:00am, with the movie starting at 10:00am. You can get reserved seats online or at the theater.

Georgia Theatre Company is expected to continue their Summer Kid Show Series on Tuesday and Thursday mornings at 10:00am in June and July. Their website is not updated just yet.

Harkins Theatres is expected to have Summer Movie Fun every weekday at 9:45, beginning the first week of June. Tickets for both kids and adults are just $1/person. This listing will be updated once the info is on their website.

Malco Theatres does not have their summer program listed yet, but they have previously offered $2.00 movies every Tuesday and Wednesday at 10:00am beginning in June.

Marquee Cinemas also does not have their summer offer up yet. Previously, they had two FREE movies at 9:30am on Tuesdays and Wednesdays beginning in June. Click on your local theater for schedule and start date.

Megaplex Theaters offers a Summer Movie Pass for $10, which covers 10 weeks of movies. Alternately, pay $1.50 each. Movies are at 10:00am on weekdays. They also offer Sensory-Friendly Showings each day at 10:30am.

Metropolitan Theatres has not updated their site, but last year they offered $2 movies at 10:00am starting in June. The day varies depending on the theater, so check your city.

Paragon Theaters offers FREE movies at 10:00am every Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday, beginning mid-June.

Phoenix Big Cinemas has FREE movies Tuesday-Thursday at 10:00am, beginning the first week of June. Doors open at 9:00am.

Regal Theatres offers Summer Movie Express all summer on Tuesdays and Wednesdays at 10:00am for $1.00/person. Choose from a G or PG movie each morning, with a portion of the proceeds going to the Will Rogers Institute.

Showcase Cinemas will offer their Bookworm Wednesdays program again this summer. Kids receive FREE admission when they present a completed book report at a participating Cinema de Lux, Showcase or Multiplex Cinemas. Children under 6 do not need to complete the book report. Last year, they require reserved seats through their website or app. They also offer a special Kids Snack Box for just $5 during those showings only.
